I get burning failure in the end of nearly every burning session.
I had the same problem some time ago, I reinstalled win2k and I've been burning 100's of cd's since then with no problems....now the failures are back.
Using both memorex and mmore cd-r's, don't think they are the problem...not the burner either so must be some software problem.

It says illigal mode for this track and stops....always at 100%
I got a scsi plextor PX-R820T using latest nero

this is the log:

Bro2,
I had a similar problem with a lite-on burner. I can't diagnose what the log file has generated, but getting rid of NERO fixed my problem. You might want to try some different burning software like Roxio or CloneCD.

I have purchased a composer Max by Primera Technologies. (4 Drive Robotic Duplicator. The drives are not recognized by Windows XP. I have reloaded the drivers several times(Note: the first module smelled burnt, then no drive recognition: Initially there was drive recognition. Drive order kept shifting on boot. First one drive, then three drives. The physical CDR drive on the PC is recognized by the Prassi software but does not recognize the TEAC 540E's). I received a replacement. Same thing. The port is firewire. Tested port with other devices and no problem.
Thanks Joel

Do you have autorun turned on , if so before it writes the lead out your system is reconizing the CD and the software is aborting the writting process.

Autorun?
hmm.....
didn't know there was a default autorun in Win2k....
