I am building a new IP office control unit to add to an existing SNC. The new control unit will initially host only 20 softphones. I am including the list of parts and licenses I plan on purchasing for this but I am u8nsure if I am missing something. I hope someone could review this list for me .. I am unsure if I need and Voice Networking Channels or endpoint licenses. I will be using a centralized VM at another site on the SCN.

Avaya IP office Control Unit v1
Avaya IP Office Feature Key (SD card)
Avaya Small Site Software Upgrade (license)
Avaya IP Office VCM 32
Avaya IP Office (Teleworker) (20 user license)
Computer Headsets for the Softphones

This "Avaya IP office Control Unit v1" and this "Avaya IP Office Feature Key (SD card)" aren't going to work for a start, you need a v2 for that card or a smart card for the v1 chassis, also an all softphone installation is nearly always a bad idea :)

Also you need an essential edition licence unless you step it to generate a virtual one with the upgrade...which doesn't always work with old chassis :)

Sorry I just double checked your right it is a V2 unit. Also I do plan on using the virtual essential license.. I have also now added some Voice Networking Channels to the build.

I only did One Softphone install.
One was enough.
Loading software on the client computer to make this computer a phone is a disaster waiting to happen.
You do not need networking software.
The install I did we also sold then 1-X
(On an application server which also includes VM Pro.

They do need networking licences, it's becoming part of an SCN. If it wasn't they would also need a preferred edition licence in order to use the user licences :)
