Boot Procedure

When I power cycle my SPARC 5, it returns to the
OK prompt. When I issue a reboot at the OK prompt,
Solaris then loads properly. Why doesn't Solaris
load when power cycled?

set the eeprom auto-boot? to true. as root:

#/usr/sbin/eeprom auto-boot?=true

Hi,

At the OK prompt type

printenv

This will show the you all the environmental variables one of them is auto-boot? if this is set to false set it to true by typing
setenv auto-boot? true

This will make the system boot to solaris when you powrerup or reboot.

You can also set the eeprom settings while system is running. Use /usr/sbin/eprom auto-boot? true and u r done!

FYI..Not reboot but only boot at OK prompt.
