There are a couple of numbers that call into our system that i would like to block. I logged in to IP office manager and attepmted to do this with an incoming call rout.

I set the "incoming number" field to the number that was dialed. (our number) And set the "Incoming CLI" field to the number that i want to block. I tried two different values for the destination field. One is a vm node called disconnect and the other is a user with no extension or voice mail.

However calls are still comming through.

What am i doing wrong?

You should work with incoming CLI so that is alright.
Try it with your cell phone and route it to your own phone so you see if it works.

I have been using my cell to test. I have a phone number set to ring directly to my desk. I created a second rout for that DID with the my cell # in the CLI and pointed the destination to the fake user. The call came to my desk. I deleted that call rout and created one with nothing in the incoming number field and my cell in the CLI and pointed it to the fake user. This too came to my desk.

i remember something in the incoming cli filed you put your number i.e your mobile and in the incoming number field you need a *

Should work, perhaps a provider issue ?

I was wondering if it is because i have two routs for a number.

I have a call rout with a number from our provider in the incoming number field, CLI is blank, Destination is my extn.

When i dial that number from my cell it goes to my extn.

So then i created the second rout with my cell in the CLI and pointed it to the fake user.

It seams that the system is seeing the first rout and ignoring the second.

Does that make sence? Or should i just call my provider?

create a new incoming call route for each number you want to block

incoming number = *
incoming CLI = number to block
Destination = Shortcode *99 Feature Busy

or

Destination VM:XXX send to a greeting saying this number is blocked,

i have done it loads of times for people who dont pay there bills you send it to a message and then onto accounts etc

I just recently did this, here is what worked for me:

- * in incoming number field(this was the key to it all)
- match the digits as they come into the system you want to block in incoming CLI field. Usually phone number w/out 1
- Creat a module(we'll call this "disconnect") and do w/ it as you wish. I just sent to a disconnect action.
- Whatever you named the module, destination should be VM:disconnect

That is all. Good luck.

Figure it out damn-it!

I would make a nice module.
More fun to play with.

FHandw., ACS

insanity is just a state of mind

But that is boring and not funny.

Make a module with a special wav file.
Something like this:

Hello

Can you hear me ?
I hear you but can you here me ?
Did you now i am not having any underware on today ?

And so on and on and on :)
