Block Search function 1

We have an issue, where we need to block the search fucntion on student PC's, now I can do this through active directory to the point where the only way students can get access to the search function is through internet explorer. My question is, does anyone know the the executable name for the search function so I can block it all together, is this even possible? Or does anyone have any other ideas?

Is there a way to delete those registry key's in mass, like where I could delete them through the network as opposed to going to all 100 machines.
