Blank IP 500v2

I have a IP 500v2 that has been reset so that all the operating software has been erased. I have gone through this forum's related questions and tried some of the solutions in upgrades, etc. that advised using a serial cable, viewing the TFTP log and getting the MAC, but I have had no success. My laptop has Manager 10.2.1 and in the 'Preferenece'-'Discovery' tab the NIC IP is 192.168.0.194 (that is what it has always been and it works with other Office IPs so I don't know if it is relevant.) My laptop is set for 192.168.42.2 255.255.255.0. Hyperterminal is 34800,8,n,1. I get no response from the Hyperterminal connection and nothing shows up on the TFTP log. Any advice?

format and recreate the SD card and then reboot, that should do it too

If I format the SD card, I lose everything? Correct? Where do I get the files to rebuild it?

Working off of your suggestion, I find that my laptop doesn't recognize the SD card using a card reader so I don't know how I would format the SD card either.

Trying a different tack, I find I can ping the control unit at 192.162.168.1. However, Manager still can't connect to it. Do you know a way of finding the MAC?

ping it via command prompt then enter arp -a

I've discovered not all IPO SD cards work in all readers. My computer'
s SD card reader doesn't work but a Kodak external reader does.

Thank you all. I have the MAC. Now I guess I need to go find a card reader for the SD card and try formatting it.
