Having trouble setting up 1140e phones on BCM50 1.0..checked and made sure DHCP was turned off, have 4 ip clients installed, have the ip sub system set with a valid ip address and gateway...when I power up the phone the first thing I get is a request in the display for an Admin Password (tried all the logical passwords...it doesn't matter what I put in, the reponse is "waiting for cfg data"
then "starting DHCP" then "DCHP server not reachable" I have the BCM50 attached to the network and can login from a local computer...I have plugged the ip phone into a switch that has other computers on it, tried different ports on the switch and even plugged the ip phone straight into the BCM50 all with the same outcome as above...

1140s do work if the system has all the patches in. There was a patch that allowed the 1120 & 1140 to work on a BCM50 Rls 1.0. We have installed several rls 1.0 w/ both 1120 & 1140 sets.

Make sure u update your system w/ all the latest patches.

when configuring your sets did u enter 7000 for the port and the BCM IP for S1 & S2?

Thanks.. I will make sure the BCM is patch current...I was never able to get to program anything on the phone...it just sat there with "DCHP server unreachable" I reset the phone to factory settings but that didn't help either

The phone will never register to the system until u configure the set. With the set powered up hit the services button twice and enter the correct info.

Thanks to all you guys, finally got it going......
