I've tried just about everything.

I have to build a few new Skillsets and Hunt Groups in the system. I've tried multiple Inactive Application DNs, tried changing DNs, tried extension DNs, tried IP phone DNs. Every time I try to enter the DN into the skillset properties (when adding new), I get an "Invalid DN" error. Same thing happens with hunt groups.

What's going on?

Have you changed the Application DNs by any chance
Thes have Default settings ass stated below.

skill sets can use from 399 backwards.
Huntgroups use DNs not assigned to any card and dont conflict with Pool codes or DNs in use(assigned to a card.

By default, the following trunk & DN’s are pre-configured on a BCM system
with a Start DN of 221:
IP Trunks = 001 – 008
MBM1 – DSM32/32+ = 221 – 252
IP Sets = 253 – 268
Application DN’s = 300 – 399
If the defaults were accepted then a BCM with a Start DN of 221 would have
the following DN numbering (example below is from a BCM with 3 DSM32+’s
in located in MBM1 – MBM3):

MBM1 – DSM32+ (1st) = 221 – 252
IP Sets = 253 – 268
Applications = 300 – 399
MBM2 – DSM32+ (2nd) = 269 – 299 & 400
MBM3 – DSM32+ (3rd) = 401 – 432

Therefore, the DN numbers associated with the DSM MBM’s are split by both
IP Set DN’s and Application DN’s. It may be more preferable to have
continuous ranges of DSM DN’s, IP Set DN’s and Application DN’s.
Ordering of DN’s into desired ranges can be achieved by use of the
Deconfigure and Configure options within Telephony Resources. Each
resource can be essentially erased by use of the Deconfigure option, and
have a more appropriate trunk or DN number range assigned by using the
Configure option.

This is an existing system, with 4 digit extensions in the 8000 range. The DNs have already been configured for the DSM modules, etc. So, I can't mess with those. I have tried to change some Application DNs to my liking before assigning them to the Contact Center CDN and Hunt groups...However, I've tried all types of DNs and nothing will take. I had the customer perform a reboot of the server after hours, and when I have confirmation it was done, I will try again.

I should just be able to go to inactive Application DNs and select any one and use it though, correct? Weird thing is, the existing skillset DNs are listed under the Inactive Application DNs, so I have to be careful.

any more ideas would be appreciated.

thanks

Are you using the lastest version of element manager 61.0
older versions didnt show the correct info.
The info I give was for illustration purposes only.

Try using the next inactive application dn that's in sequence with the skill sets that are working.
