I've been trying to configure a Polycom Soundstation in our BCM450 without a whole lot of success.

It's an analog based soundstation. Here's what I've tried so far, I was hoping I'm missing something stupid.

Currently on DN 400 is our fax machine line, I have connected the Soundstation to that port and been able to make calls successfully out of it.

When connecting to my next available port at DN 405, I can make I/C calls internally without a problem. But when I press 9 to get an outbound line and then start to dial, it beeps at me 4-5 times (almost like a fast busy).

I've configured that port in the BCM450 to have the same exact line assignment, capabilities, and ATA settings as the fax port DN 400.

To me this means there's something configured incorrectly, but I have no clue what that is.

Can anyone help?

Did u make sure the new ext. has line pool access? also make sure you have sufficient analog ports on the BCM. you can check this in element manager under keycodes.

Money may not buy you happiness, but in MLB it buys you CHAMPIONSHIPS. (27 and counting). MLB,stands for Major League Baseball for you slower Boston Fans!

Nevermind about the keycodes remark.(misread the bcm 450 part, thought it was a BCM50). My bad. also try possibly a different port on the ASM

Check your primeline also. make sure this is set to either Pool or intercom

Our keycodes (from System > Keycodes) read:

Expansion Port - 1
Voice Messaging - 38
IP Telephony Client - 4

Prime Line is set for I/C for the working fax line and the not working port.

Also, plugged directly into the jack in the server room to ensure it wasn't bad wiring in the building.

Does the IP telephony client mean there are 4 analog lines or 4 available phone numbers/lines?

First, the IP telephony client means that you can register 4 IP sets. Has nothing to do with analog anything.

Second, it sound like your analog port might be set to hotline somewhere. Check it under the Capabilities and Preferences tab under Preferences.

Under Line Access > Line pool access, add whatever pool the other ports have access to. By default only Pool A is allowed. If you're calling out via a PRI it will probably be BlocB.
