I have a BCM 400 4.0 that is patch current as of 7-22-13. I am trying to upgrade to BCM450 6.0. When I run the data migration manager (version 1.1.5) I get the following errors when it tries to retrieve the data from the Callpilot:
69 Info Start extracting Callpilot System Configuration
70 Warning Failed to retrieve web page for: SystemProperties
71 Warning Failed to retrieve web page for: DialingTranslationProperties
72 Warning Failed to retrieve web page for: OperatorSettings
73 Warning Failed to retrieve web page for: FaxProperties
74 Warning Retrieved invalid html
75 Error Failed extracting Callpilot Switch Properties After try: 3
76 Info Start extracting Callpilot Mailbox Administration Configuration
77 Warning All Mailbox passwords of the import BCM will be temporarily defaulted to 3819.
78 Warning Web page time out, login and try again
79 Warning Web page time out, login and try again
80 Warning Web page time out, login and try again
81 Error Failed to retrieve Mailbox info after: 3
82 Info Start extracting Callpilot Auto-Attendant Configuration
83 Warning Failed to retrieve web page for: AAGeneralProperties
84 Error Failed to import Auto-Attendant general properties
85 Info Start extracting Callpilot Custom Call Route Tree Configuration
86 Error Failed Extracting CCR tree after try: 3

Has anyone run into this?

Are the password default? I thought there was something in the procedure that requires default pwds...

I know that you need to default the password when going from versions 3.x to 4.0. The upgrade doc for 6.0 just says that after you migrate the data to the 450 that all user passwords will be reset to default. It isn't a Pre-Upgrade Activity to change them to default when extracting the data. The DMM tool connects to the BCM and extracts all of the telephony data just fine. It only starts failing when it tries to pull the Callpilot data.

Not sure if you figured out anything yet. I noticed in Avaya solutions that there was a new release of DMM (1.1.7) that was supposed to take care of the Callpilot issue you're referring to. I have a 4.0 to BCM450(R6) upgrade this weekend if I get the parts. I'll let you know how I make out. The new release software can be found at

Update: Tried doing my upgrade over the weekend and it was a no-go. I tried using DMM 1.1.7 however I got a failure around 38 minutes into the process. I tried a couple times, through the OAM port and LAN 1 also. It errors out during the "Extracting Sets and Lines..." which is step 48 in the process. I get an error that says Command interrupted - INTERNAL ERROR: unable to create new native thread. For the fun of it, I tried running DMM 1.1.5 and had the same result as mentioned in SOLN218412 on Avaya's Support Site. Apparently there are some issues with the "updated" DMM 1.1.7 that need resolved before we can move forward with the upgrade. Has anyone else had any luck with the BCM400 r4 to BCM450 r6 upgrade?

I tried using the 1.1.7 after your previous post and after I downloaded it I couldn't even get it to run. Went ahead with the upgrade using the 1.1.5. Let the customer know in advance that we were going to have to rebuild the voicemail from scratch so they could get their messages out. So they ended up losing all the voicemail. Also, although the telephony seemed to pass, I also lost about 75% of that programming as well. The only thing that really trannferred over correctly were the extension numbers. Lost all names, line assignments, line pool access, etc. Fortunately I pulled all of the telephony programming to an excel spreadsheet so at least I had the info to program back in. The last upgrade we did from BCM400 R4 to BCM450 R6 went pretty well. All of the voicemail and probably 90% of the telephony tranfered over. So not sure what the issue might be.

Downloaded DMM 1.1.7 and was able to pull a good backup of database and voice mail.. Apparently DMM 1.1.5 is broke. Did have to load on a XP computer with little since of security. Company laptop would not load properly.

I suspect your hard drive was dying.

I did an upgrade going from 4.0 to Bcm450 R6 last week and had a problem retrieving the agent list, it showed:
77 Error Failed to import web page: AgentList_40/Agent: 21

After i applied to the Bcm450 all the agent Id's below 21 were fine but 21 and over were not showing, i had to re-create
them manually.

In my case as well i think the hard drive was on its last miles as it was manufactured March 2007.

Other then that the upgrade went pretty well.

I also strongly recommend to use a spare chassis and build up the 450 in it so in case of problems you can revert back
to the customer chassis.
