Is there a limit on the cdr buffer? What happens if there are more calls than the buffer can handle? Or can it be polled more frequently or does that cause another type of problem? Thank you.
There is a limit on the file size. It is set in with the CDR programming. I think it is 400 meg. But if memory serves you have a pool and as you assign extensions memory space for last number redial and missed calls list. This reduces the memory available for CDR etc.
The limit is quite large. In most environments it could last 6mo. to a year. I don't know if there is an accessible log that would tell you when a file is erased to clear room for a new one.
However, I don't know why you should be concerned about losing recent data.
You can always use the CDR Pull/Push mechanism within reasonable time to access (and reaccess) the data.
If you want to set up some sort of system to store the information. You can set up a FTP server and have the information pushed to your server once a day, month etc.If you have windows xp O.S on a PC you can use the inbuilt ISS server to get a free FTP server.
