I had a working BCM 400 3.5 and needed to change numbering plan. Through the serial port I logged on and initialized the system. Now I cannot connect through the web browser ('page cannot be displayed'). Browser was working fine before I initialized. I can still logon through the serial port with default login/password. I verified the IP addresses and can ping them, but browser access does not work. Everything else seems to function (dial tone, etc.) Any ideas why or how I can remedy?

This might be worth a shot, but is your firewall on? I would also delete all the temporary internet files and cache.

If all else fails a system reboot will re-establish connections.

How do I check/change firewall through serial port? I've rebooted many times, no luck.

how are you trying to get in via the web browser is you are not using a network cable?

I was able to use the web browser until I initialized the system. That is the only thing that has changed. Same IP address, same network connections.

So your computer is attached to the network, you can ping the BCM.

Have you tried statically assigning your computer (10.10.10.? - 3), and plugging into the LAN port1 on the system (10.10.10.1)
Ensure that the firewall is off, and the pop-up blocker is disabled.
Try the web browser again.

PC firewall is off, popup blocker is off, connect to LAN1, ping - yes, browser - no. Again, it was working fine until I initialized the BCM. Nothing else has changed.

I don't know your user name/password.
but check this....
Internet Browser: 10.10.10.1:6800
=> lan 1=> user name: supervisor
password : visor
or.......: PlsChgMe!

10.10.11.1:6800
=> lan 2=> same user and password.
Remember to set up your pc to 10.10.10.3
or 10.10.11.3
Hope this help you...

Sorry i was reading over this thread again... what do you mean by initialized the system?

I appreciate all the input, but I apparently have not made the situation clear. This is not a login/password problem. When I browse to either IP address (with or without the :6800)I get no opportunity to login. Instead, I get this:

Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage

Even when dialing into the modem, same result.

I can ping both LAN1 and LAN2 addresses, but browsing results in the IE error above.

It seems as though perhaps some service has been disabled by initializing, but I can't figure out which one.

When I say initialize, I mean I connected through the serial port, logged in successfully with ee_admin/PlsChgMe!, chose 1 from the main menu, 1 from the Platform Initialize menu, and 1 from the Initialize menu, which initializes the system. I realize now, I shouldn't have done that, but I'm hoping it can be fixed.

Got it fixed. Turns out it is the old Apache Certificate problem associated w/initialize after 1/1/2008. I set date back to 2007, re-initialized, works fine now.

Thanks
