I have a hunt group that that consists of 2 DNs. If Busy is set to overflow to a specific DN which has voicemail setup. Instead of overflowing to the VM extension I get the message "the person you are trying to reach is unavailable" then kicks me back to the previous menu. What do I need to change to make it work?

Also, I have a HG setup that I want to overflow to the general mailbox. I've tried using mailbox 100 the general delivery mailbox, but that doesn't seem to work. Any ideas?

1. So the Overflow is set to 2XX but does it ring the set? try bumping up the Transfer Callback setting to 6 or higher.

2. If you want it to go to General Delivery then the Overflow should be set to the DN of the Callpilot (Feature 985 to see the DN to use)

1. I verified the sets in the HG ring when I call. I tried bumping the transfer callback to 6, but I'm still getting the "person not available" message. When I dial the HG directly the sets ring and eventually I get the message no one available.

2. I tried this as well. I set the Overflow DN to 334 (voicemail). It bumped then call back to the main menu.

You need to create a mailbox for the hunt group..

Voicemail rule is call will return to the originating caller mailbox.
In your case it's the Huntgroup.

Overflow your first Huntgroup to another hunt group with the overflow extension in it..then set the overflow to 334.

Then assign the Huntgroup mailbox message indicator to your extension.

What will happen is the caller rings Huntgroup 1..if busy then overflow to Huntgroup 2...
No answer then overflow to 334. Which will look for the mailbox of the first hunt-group.
When a message is left it will alert on your nominated extension.

The other method s to use SDN directory in the call pilot..
It's more flexible with hunt groups as you can send the call to an AA or users mailbox...

Thanks. Unfortunately, we don't have any additional vm licenses to setup any additional mailboxes. I read somewhere that we can forward the HG to the VM DN and add the HG DN as an alternate extension to one of the vm that we have set up. I haven't tried it yet and based on what the above I doubt it will work. I haven't used SDN directory yet, but I'll take a closer look at it.

Surprising, adding the HG as an alternate extension to an existing mailbox seems to work. I was a little surprised, but happy it did.

When I pointed the overflow to the DN of the CallPilot for question #2 I get the general delivery mailbox system message, but not the standard voicemail that we get prior to setting up the CCR. How to I get the overflow to that mailbox? It's not 100 which is the general delivery mailbox and it doesn't seem to be 334 which is the DN we use for voicemail.

I am getting confused.
You said my #2 suggestion did not go into General Delivery, instead you said it went to the greeting (Path 0) but now you say it does indeed go to General Delivery mailbox but unlike what you wanted in your original post you no longer want it to go to General Delivery but instead og to "That mailbox" ....what ever that mailbox is.

What exactly do you want to happen?

Sorry for the confusion. What I want is for the unanswered calls from certain HG to go to the general mailbox. When I set the overflow to 334 for one of the HGs and have the HG setup as an alternative extension on the general delivery mailbox the caller is prompted to select an extension to leave a voicemail for. I don't want the prompt, but rather just the general mailbox. I hope that's a little bit clearer.

No, we don't have IP sets. We have digital. We have 8 sets. Everyone has their own VM.

You do have the option of moving one of the users to the GDM (mailbox 100). This would free up a mailbox for hte HG.

Curlycord- I did as you suggested and I get a message "Ext" and if I don't enter anything it switches to "Not Available" then my phone hangs up. Maybe I just need to change the message on 100 to a general mailbox. I'm not sure how to add a message indicator though to our office manager's phone. Her DN is listed as the attendant.

If 100 is already taking messages there then changing a greeting will not do anything.
As mentioned you cannot add another indicator to a phone that already has a mailbox.

You may need to call in a tech then because I have proven it works....you missed something or something else is missing and a trained tech can pick it out quickly by going over the programming.

The way we are setup right now is that if no one answers the phones (no HGs) then it plays greeting 1 and goes to VM. 224 is the attendant associated with the greeting table. Is this configuration is the general delivery mailbox the one that is used or would it be 224? Maybe once I get that figured out then I can figure out how to move forward. I'm trying not to get a tech involved at this point, but it may be necessary.

Normal setup example:
Reception is 221
MB 100 is associated with X221 (where the rest of users match)
AA is backup after 4 rings
The setting in Table/1/Atdnt is the receptions DN of 221

Hope that sort of helps.
