Having a problem with new BCM 50 rls 2.0. Log into Element Manager O.K. but when I try to open anything under telephony I get a General Error.Reloaded element manager, version of java is good.

Any ideas?

download and reinstall element manager from your bcm

I think if I remember right you have to shut Java off. If you update Java to the newest version it will have conflict with Element Manager I had it happen to a customer he couldn't get anything to work right he downgraded his version and now works great
Try That

Has all recent patches including OAM, This is not an upgrade. system is only a couple of months old. Did not start having this problem until recently.

Tried level 11 reset, reprogrammed database, still cannot access thru element manager. I think at this point it is just a flakey BCM.

Going to take it back to Nortel.

Im sure this is going to be a painless proccess with Nortel support!!!

mrmarshall, are these the bad Portway boards we have seen?

I get the same error when appliying new patches

In the begining we had

BCM050.081-SOFTEARE-MANAGEMENT 1.2-1.0
BCM050.096-SU 1.0-1.0
BCM50R1_to_R2_Upgrade_2-2.0.2.05e-1
BCM50R1_to_R2_Upgrade_1-2.0.2.05e-1
BCM050.R200.042-CORE 1.2-1.0
BCM050.R200.043-DSPFIRMWARE 1.0-1.0

then apply

BCM050.R200.SU.System.001
BCM050.R200.045

and the element manager begins to crash...

I had open a case in Nortel, the solution tha give us is a "Level 2" reset.

Have you apply any new patch before the "crash"?
