Not sure if anyone has been working on a BCM 450 yet but this is my first. The issue that I am having is that Nortel's documentation says that the Target lines have increased to 550 yet my system has target lines numbered 361 through 680. Not to 910 as the documentation states. Does anyone have a clue on this?

Do u have to have the CEC card installed to get up to 550?

CEC is installed and keycode for expansion was done also. Still only shows to 680.

I don't know if Nortel made changes but I found this in Nortel Business Communications Manager 450 1.0
Configuration—System
NN40160-501 01.01 Standard

BCM450 device type capacity

The following table provides the maximum capacities for your BCM devices.

Table 1 BCM450 device type capacity

Maximum TDM Set DNs that can exist in the system (Note: DECT and T7406e wireless handsets are part of the TDM set count). Maximum is affected by IP DN count. (Available DNs = 300 - IP DNs allocated) 300

Maximum number of IP Set DNs. Maximum is affected by TDM DN count.(Available DNs = 300 - TDM DNs allocated) 300

Maximum number of Application DNs (Call Centre Skillsets, VoiceMail) 115

Maximum number of ISDN DNs 16

Maximum number of Hunt Group DNs 30

Maximum number of Target Lines (target line numbering starts at line 361)300
Target Line Number (#) Range (pre-allocated - 1 for each possible DN - 300 in total) 361-660

Maximum number of TDM Trunks (Analog, Digital physical trunks). Maximum is affected by IP Trunk count. (Available TDM trunks = 130 - IP Trunks allocated)130

Maximum number of IP (H.323/SIP) Trunks. Maximum is affected by TDM Trunk count. (Available IP trunks = 130 - TDM Trunks allocated). 130

I have found 2 documents with in the BCM itself that says it supports 550 target lines starting 361 to 910.

Where did you see this because here is what I found
"The physical line number range is 1 to 360"
"Target lines use line numbers 361 to 680"

Hmm... seems like Nortel has some conflicting info out there.

Working on my first 450 in my lab right now, and all the docs say target lines run from 361 to 680.

I have an expansion keycode and a CEC card installed also.

It would sure be useful if we could get some more target lines out of this thing.

Around 300 target lines for 300 sets. They definitely want you to buy MCDN license if you're networking your bcm's...!

this is in the install guide.

cook:

u can only have a total of 130 trunks (any combination of IP & TDM) not 130 IP + 130 TDM.

Looks like your number of 560 is made up of 300 TL + 130 TDM + 130 IP.
