BCM 400 Weird Faults

I have a BCM 400 3.7 which has amongst other things 4 VOIP trunks which suddenly seem to have become invisible when trying to dial out from the system, they work on incoming calls only but when either trying to dial out using the call destination code or the direct prefix for the line pool they are in the outgoing call fails and doesn't even show the attempt on BCM monitor. Its as if the system thinks either it has no outgoing VOIP trunks or is treating the call as internal.
Another strange one with this system is when attempting a conference call it fails every time with conference busy coming up on the handset display.

Any clues would be gratefull received as I now have gone through the system setup so many times I can just about recite it in my sleeep

Try a reboot first to see if the BCM cleans up it's act.

At your next opportunity to do a shutdown, reseat your PEC cards. I had a strange trouble about three years ago, and after working with ITAS for several days, the tech told me to reseat the PECs. Once I did that, the trouble went away.

It's worth a shot.

Tried Reseting all cards. Still acting strangely.
3.7 to 4.0 upgrade on the way, kill or cure time!
 
There is several patches for 3.7 relating to Voip trunk s locking up

make sure your up to date with all you patches
 
I have the same problem
The vendor I purchased this from has changed hands and will not help me.
I know there are no patches installed at all. System is 3.7.
I have all the 3.6 patches but can not find the current 3.7
How can I obtain these?

Oh yeah and my customer is pissed!
They just want the ip trunks to work.

This is killing me
 
Go to the Nortel site if ur a registered authorized dealer.
 
If you have an ftp site, I will upload them, let me know what you need ?
 
You can get the patches from Nortel.
Of course, if you're not Nortel certified and authorized, you'll have to depend on the kindness of others.

Sorry. I'll share some knowledge, but I won't give away things that set me apart for free.
I'm just trying to make a buck in this world too.

Thats the problem with Nortel

I have been installing and maintaining Norstar equipment since 93.
I got certified then 8x24 DR3
I have been at it ever since. I opened my own company in 94 and have been at that ever since.
I self teach myself as each new software is released.
I can not sell enough Norstar to make Nortel happy so they will not let me in the club.
I have many customers that are quite happy with my service and support of their equipment. They like the personal service they get from me. They have access to my cell 24 hours a day. Some have gone to Nortel and come back because they just can not get that type of service from the big boys.
I am forced to go to the gray market.
Then when they come out with a product with bugs in it I am unable to obtain the proper fix.
Not cool

I can definitely relate!
I beat you by a few years on the Norstar.
I first certified on DR2.

I'm sure we could work something out for patching that would be a win/win.
