Far as I'm aware, the modems in BCM 200/400 require a physical connection to the modem to an analog port or trunk. If you're somewhere outside of North America different rules may apply.
on the front of the BCM right under the MSC card and right above the DB-9 serial connection you should see an rj-11 for the modem. Just plug in analog dial tone. If you want to use a DID you will need an ATA. Set the target line to A+R on the ATA's DN and thats it.
In the UK, you can use a utility called BTRace to dial in via a DDI line. I've only read about it, never configured it. We get the old fashioned analog modem over here in the US.
Check the docs on the BCM, if you haven't already, or check with Mr Marshall (
I am involved in installing BCMs in the UK. Have you verified whether your BCM200 has an onboard modem? If not, and the customer has ISDN lines (BRI or PRI), providing they are not using IP handsets, you could set up remote access via ISDN dialup.
We install various options for the customer, using an ATA connected to the modem like the other guys have mentioned, ISDN dial up, or if the customer agrees, VPN access.
