I have a broadband connection which i share using a router (Dlink 704p)its not a wireless router. The computer is attached on it(i laptop and 2 desktops). How can i share folders with the other computer attached to the router? Thanks in advance
Right-click My Computer and choose Properties. Click the Computer Name tab.
About mid-way down you will see;
Full Computer Name (this is the name of your computer) Workgroup Name (this is the name of your Workgroup)
Both of your PC's should have the same name for Workgroup.
If they do not, you need to put them into the same Workgroup.
So, from where you are, go to the bottom of the window, and you will see;
To Rename this computer or join a Domain, click Change...
Go ahead and click Change. At the bottom of this window will be the name for your Workgroup. Enter the same name here as your other PC has for it's Workgroup.
Both computers belong to the MSHOME workgroup, and both are on the same network. So, now what happens when you open up My Netork Places, do you see the other computer in there now?
Theres an error. it says that mshome is not accessible that i might not have permission to use the network.List of server for this network is not currently available. where did i go wrong?

Open Windows Explorer or My Computer, click the Tools menu, click Folder Options, click the View tab. Is the Use simple file sharing (Recommended) box checked?
This is the complete error message when i tried to open MSHOME workgroup
