I was wondering if anyone can help, we have someone that wishes to link their Avaya IP500 to a Panasonic KX TDA200. I have found that they can be linked via QSIG. But would the functions between systems still remain.

i.e. could a receptionist answer a call, signaling on the Panasonic, on her Avaya 5420 handset and transfer call to one of the panasonic handsets? So basically would it allow her to be the receptionist for both systems but only use the one handset?

Any help on this would be greatly appreciated

Thanks

A big NO on that one, QSig between systems will give you a simple call between sites as if was through the PSTN it does not give you call control of the other system :)

In a very basic way you could accomplish this - so long as the Panasonic will allow new calls to ring across the QSIG trunks. Calls transferred back to a Panasonic user would "feel" like a tie line call. No BLF or other tight integration between the two systems. It wouldn't be pretty, but could function.
