Was trying to install a 8 port digital card onto an existing system I use an open slot number 4, the system registered as an unknown card, none of the ports were working.
I was in the impression it would register automatically, can someone tell me if I need to replace the card or is there any setting that need to be changed.

Thanks in advance,

Ricky

Please always post what your config is.
What is already installed, what type of card do you install what software level etc.
You can have only three digital station cards in a IP 500 chassis.

And you will need to power down the IPO!
It cannot be insert in to the system when the power is still in it.

BAZINGA!

I'm not insane, my mother had me tested!

Thanks for responding to my post, as you can tell I'm very new to this site.

Here's the information you requested:

1. Config: Not sure what your asking for?

2. What is already installed, what type of card do you have installed, what software level etc.

Slot 1 IP500 verson 5.0 (15)
Slot 2 Phone2/ATM4 verson 5.0(15)
Slot 3 DigstA8 verson 5.0 (15)

I would like to install the same DigstA8 in slot 4 but for some reason the card registered as unknown,
is that normal? I couldn't find any options to change the card type.

Any suggestion that needs to be done next?

You really need to provide mnore info such as does the card give any led info?
Can you make a monitor trace when you power up the IPO?
etc. etc.

About the LED, I will have to check on Monday, I'll have to get check on that but i think they were red..

You were also asked whether you had powered off the system before inserting the card. Simply question that can only be "yes" or "no".

Stuck in a never ending cycle of file copying.

Just saw the last post today sorry for the delay, Yes always power down when inserting a new card thanks for reminding me.

I just wanted to thank everyone for helping me on this issue I was having, with further research on the web I found out that the IP500 V1 and the circuit card I ordered was an 8 port digital, the only problem was my supplier sent me a combo instead, that was my first problem with the card, found out combo cards to play well with Verson 1 control units, turns out the supplier thought he was doing me favor, but anyway lesson learned.

Thanks again..

The supplier should not do you favors but send you the stuff you ordered!
The supplier should also know that a combocard does not work on an IP500v1!
But you have learned this the hard way and you will never forget :)
Thanks for the update.
