We recently recieved a test/evaluation toy. Wondering if anyone has information/experience working it. It has a few features I am currently trying to get access to and I can't seem to find any info on it.

What you have is an IP Office. It's the replacemnet for the Magix system. It will do 64XX, 44XX, 46XX series phones, Ip trunks, analog. Its a PBX in a box. The Avaya web site should have info on it.

Thanks
Chris

I've just installed one. I was just up there today and tweaking settings. From what I've seen so far I'm impressed. Especially with the ease of use and setup of the voicemail pro. You build AA's and menu's via a graphical setup.

OK, Now I need to make a change to the IP403. User just changed local service provider in the Carribean, now all calls show up as main number. they want individual extensions to show up for billing purposes. Is this relatively easy to do?

Hi
Look at short codes where you can insert outgoing calling number for each short code in the end of the digits string. If you enter short codes on user form you have a possibility to make a calling number for each user but in that case you need a little bit more work.

gezlee,

first of all, when dealing with ip office, forget the definity. those two are completely different platforms with completely different software and settings. now to your question: there is an entity in ip office, called a 'short code'. these short codes are, by comparison, a mix of ars/aar analysis and route patterns. now, if you have a short code to access an outside line, say 9N is the code, N is the telephone number and there is some line group number, just append 'Syour_ani_number' to the telephone number and you will get what you want. so, in short, the short code itself should be something like '9N', the telephone number should be 'NS11231234567' and the line group number whatever you need. hope this helps.

p.s. by the way, here on tek-tips there is the special ip office forum full of very very experienced ipo guys. take a look at it. :)
