Hey guys-had an issue recently where I had to connect IPO
trunk port to an Avaya PCM for 3 zone paging.
The default short code with the telephone number field as a . sends DTMF that works great with a UPAM,but sends the PCM into a confused/busy state.
In response to your problem,I've been told to use a trunk port whenever possible due to complications with the station port releasing.

I recently had a similair issue with paging. I set up a short-code to point to the analog station and that solved the issue. For some reason calling the extension directly caused it to ring busy. dialing the short code worked fine:
SC-*71
Telephone number-199 (analog extension set for page)
