Hi

I am looking at implementing some SIP lines into our own system for testing. I have used Gamma in the past and was not impressed. Does anyone know any SIP providers that work well with Avaya?

Cheers

Yes, our SIP trunks work great, also I'm sure Sean (HSM) does nice SIP trunks too. Both better than Gamma (which isn't hard) :)

We are a BP with Gamma but had some problems with them and there knowledge of what settings they require are useless. Do you provide uncontested lines for SIP or just use normal ADSL?

We do sell to customers with existing ADSL but we always advise (and can provide) a dedicated ADSL connection with low contention, we also provide FTTC and EFM circuits etc. We do however cost more than Gamma, but buy cheap buy twice etc etc :)

Thanks for describing out trunks Sean, what are yours like? :)

We don't have that many issues with Gamma IPDC trunks to be honest. Have quite a few of them out there.

But I much prefer good old ISDN!!!!!

I do prefer ISDN too, fault diagnosis and ownership is so much better, plug and play, secure fast remote access etc etc

We have all of our installs on ISDN. Cant fault it but we keep getting asked for SIP lines so we need to trail them. I will pass all the details over to my manager who will need to review a few options. Thanks for the details.

Whose SIP is better. Only one way to find out:

We can do registered or trusted, registered is great for Demo kits where you don't know what IP they will be coming from. You also get (free) ext level/4 digit dialling between our trunks on a system and our hosted phones and vice versa :)

Does that mean the 'registered' trunks don't need a static ip?

Exactly, I can fire our demo system up anywhere with an Internet connection and it works (as long as there isn't a firewall actively blocking it) :)
