I don't get it, in August 2020 they gave us 11.1 Service Pack 1 and now they are giving us 11.1 Feature Pack 1, and just last week they pulled 11.1 Service Pack 2 - What the ???

Avaya is like Wheel of Fortune....pick your own adventure!

See how long before they pull this one. Updating my Demo System at the moment to FP1

At this point I suppose they will never publish the 11.1 SP2 anymore

I'll let you guys beta test...[pipe]

Coolest thing about this version. They already have a critical patch for the app server and server edition. I would take time to read the release notes.

From what I've been told by Avaya, Feature Packs and Service Packs are developed separately, and fixes that are present in service packs might not necessarily be present in feature packs, even though the service packs came out before. So a fix to an issue in a FP can be in a SP that is actually older.

I remember from years ago that they had 2 competing groups of programmers and at the end they took both results and ran them through their testing scenarios and whichever won was released. I am not sure if that is still the case or if they have thrown them together into 1 big group.
That is also the reason why some dot releases behave slightly different than others as it depends on which group developed it.

Always hated that.
Seems now they have in addition to that also the FP developer group(s)

@Westi up to some years ago they delivered the testing versions to a wide group of partners on quarter basis, I mean every MR to be released. Additionally at every GA version not only core and application software were delivered for that purpose but all draft documents to be corrected as well. Recently some of the smart engineers who managed all the new releases left Avaya, testing methods are now very very limited to the GA release with no chace to install on field. Since then all releases suffer of lack ok stability, documentation is not so accurated. Certainly the chapter 11 has had it's responsability but not only. Here the results.

Has anyone had DTMF issues with this new release? I am having a problem where DTMF tones are not being recognized by remote IP + SIP phones over VPN. Have yet to try with an IP/SIP phone at the site where the system is. Admittedly these are analog lines converted from Spectrum cable. However DTMF is recognized when using an on-site digital phone, as well as tapping directly onto the analog lines.
*I am able to workaround getting DTMF recognized if using the Conference feature, i.e. access a Conferencde Meet Me, then Conference in the call.
-Just inquiring...

This release has been a headache for us all around, if anyone is seeing problems with Web Manager saying that it may not have started completely, check Monitor > Blacklisted IPs and make sure that it hasn't blocked itself. If it has, add the IPO IP to the whitelist at System > VoIP, it should start working again.

We also saw issues with VMPro not starting as root and getting the correct permissions, as well as port 25 being closed and Resiliency not working.

Apparently SP2 is coming in the next few weeks...
