Avaya CM new maintenance account

Hi, I have a customer whose dadmin account was removed, and they need a new account created to run maintenance reports on there. How can i create and give the proper permissions. I have a suser account.

Avaya would be the only way to get dadmin turned back on.
This is done in RFA with a license file. Other option would be RFA license with MSPs enabled so customer logins would be able to do maintenance commands.

I am a registered Avaya Business Partner, would that help me at all, or do i still have to call Avaya.
 
Are the things I posted above already enabled?

If all the above is already enabled, I can help you fix this.

I registered BP should be able to login to RFA and build a license. Not sure what rules Avaya has for older loads like this.

Also you should be able to upgrade free to the latest cm3 for prologix. You are a few loads behind.

I have not been able to check if dadmin is enabled yet as someone else is in the switch currently, i will check that soon. Also, registering for RFA to see if that will help.
 
You could ask someone to display system-parameters customer-options and also to "list logins" to see if "dadmin" is in an inactive or disabled state.

AvayaTier3 to upgrade the prologic release he wou.d need one of those nifty "orange cards", and he would have to have AVAYA load it. Last I remember they charged Business Partners $125 to load an orange card, you provide.

It's much easier with an S-Series server, just burn a CD od the latest ISO image for your release, and install it.

Mitch, burning a CD and making a flash are different technology but very similar. The difference here is only thousands of dollars for someone. I have been doing this for years and have upgraded many Definity's dating back to R1V1.

ISO images burned on a CD will only upgrade a server that you own. The simplest way to migrate a prologix is to use the flash and upgrade it to an s8400... That is big bucks, is it not? Unless Avaya is giving these new servers away.

$ 125 to plug in a flash card and reprogram the processor is a lot cheaper proposal for the customer.

AvayaTier3, yes, I too have used "orange cards" and upgraded many SI and CSI switches, from the sound of his request though, they just took this switch over, and most likely, the customer doesn't want to spend any money.

The S8400 upgrade is only $4500 List, however, they will also be charged for RTU upgrade from R3 to R5, and that will not be cheap. This is why we usually just replace the older CSI's with S8300/G350 or G450's, because there are 4 RTU bundles for the S8300 that are very inexpensive (50, 100, 150 and 200 user), that combinded with the lower cost of the S8300 and media gateways its almost a no brainer. Also if they do the S8400 upgrade, and they wanted to use the free, included IA770, they would need to add in a TN2302AP Medpro, and that will add another $5500, so as you can see, it's not cheap to upgrade an old switch, and this is by design; they want them replaced, not upgraded.

It says the dadmin account is enabled, but i cannot change its password.

or is there a way to add a new account that has maintenance permissions?

I am thinking about installing Avaya CM 5.1 in a Dell Server R200, using redHat Linux Enterprise Edition. Is that possible? We use Avaya IP phones in our office.
