I have CCR v8.1 and just upgraded from SQL2005 to SQL 2008R2 (Ip500v2 v8.1.43, VMPro 8.1.8902, Server2003 SP2 with all CCR prerequisites, all on a single server).
My brand new CCR install was working perfectly on a fresh new database... until I restored the SQL2005 database.
Now the CCR Real Time service won't start, and Event Viewer says it cannot find the database, check your connection string or something like that.

When I open the CCR Web User login page, it asks for the username (which did work before I restored the database), but it just says wrong username/password.

I did fiddle with some of the SQL2005 logins & passwords prior to upgrading the whole system and was having problems with CCR v1 as well (which I though might clear up post-upgrade), but it looks like I have just re-imported my problems when I restored the 2005 Database.

Anyone have any ideas ?

I think your SQL2005 restore did it.
I would have done these steps:

Backup SQL2005
Upgrade to SQL2008
Backup SQL2008
Then upgrade CCR
Restore SQL2008

You are now restoring the SQL2005 in to the 2008 and i think there is a difference in those two versions.
I think you really need to go back to the old situation and use my steps.

BAZINGA!

I'm not insane, my mother had me tested!

Yeah, I thought that I may have to do a full rewind back to SQL 2005 and upgrade properly, but I am trying to avoid it if I can.

As I said, when I was on SQL2005 with CCR v1, this was also working I believe, but then I started poking around SQL trying to work out what the CCR Administrator username & password was. This is when I changed changed the passwords for the SQL users (CCR User and Manager or whatever the exact names are), and don't think I changed anything else but can't recall 100%.

Anyway, I really want to work out what the problem is with the SQL2005 database, since it could end up being a waste of time even reverting back to that and upgrading if I still have this problem

Changing the unknown administrator password can be done by copy a supervisor password in to the administrator account.
Then you must ofcourse know the supervisor password :)

But before changing the database i would always make a backup first.

When you say copy a supervisor password into the administrator account, I am not sure I can do that, since I have tried all the CCR login passwords that ever existed to my knowledge, including the administrator & supervisor (the same account in this case)

If you don't have them and no SMTP configured then you have two options.
The password is encrypted, find out how and what it is and put one in.
Reinstall the lot.

I do have the original ccr v1 supervisor account credentials, which I think was also the same account assigned as the administrator account.

It's just that I can't login as either supervisor or administrator after the sql2005 restore, so I strongly think I have broken something else in SQL.

Have uninstalled the lot, and reinstalled sql2005 and ccr6.1
Restored the 2005 database, but as I thought the same problem.

IPOCCR Real Time Service will not start

Event log shows:

Audit Failure, Login failed for Avaya SBCCUser (local machine)

What is the password supposed to be for this ?
I have read on other threads that its a waste of time trying to fix this problem.

Should I just tell client I have blown away their entire historical database?

That password is the password used when installing it for the first time.
If you lost this one then you are screwed.

Hmmm, well since I didn't originally install the system that will be a problem to locate :\
I might take a guess and just change it in sql

You could try, it is broken anyway.
But to be honest, i would start all over again.

Yes I gave up, was spending way too much time on it anyway.
Luckily the client isn't fussed about the historical data, they were just happy to get their phone system back.

A few days back the UPS died and took the Main Unit down with it (IP500v1), so having everything online is the main thing.

Thx for the help ..

You're welcome :)
