To go off topic briefly, we should be prepared for lots of people posting that their 5410's are not working after an upgrade, as the next maint release for R5 has the R6 firmware for 24/5410 handsets
I know.
Just be sure they have 5410_UPGRADE_ALLOWED and the bin file present on a tftp server and that the IP is correct.
Also the batch file is needed too sometimes.
So i am prepared

i still cant even see the logos, getting page cannot be displayed. AU support have been helpful and suggested i downgrade my browser and remove a bunch of Java updates.....
Be nice if Avaya would have a class dedicated to the newer Avaya products.. One-X Mobile, One-X Portal, UMS, SIP, etc. When you work in support, you learn the stuff as you go. When you work for the customer, you don't learn it until you do it. I'd like to do it first, and then be able to pitch what I think we could use in our company to our CEO.
They have the standard classes still, and the IP500 Core Implementation is sort of what I was looking for, but for $2,159, seems to be a waste of money for mostly a brush up on stuff I already know.
Or get a demo system
It will cost about the same as the course but oyu will have all licenses and you can update them when there is a new release.
This way oyu always can play with all applicaitons and see how they work before going to the customer.

You are right.
But then a certified tech should do it and explain it to the end user who has to maintain it!

We show them the basics and give them a limited login, they can do far to much damage otherwise, as they say "a little bit of knowledge is a dangerous thing"
You do, but you find you lose customers much quicker that way, best to protect them from their own stupidity. Some are ok, but you know the type that have outsourced IT and very little knowledge and usually refer to their handset usng the DDI rather than the extn number....they are the worst
