avaya 9620L. connect to ipo 500

i got avaya 9620L and i want to connect to ipo 500.
i would like to see if this phone works locally on the same network where ipo is installed and then i want to configure this phone to home office loaction.

the phone is booted up got IP and at Enter Extension screen. when i punch in my extension and password i get msg.
Extension in Use: ext# Press Continue to take over this extension.

when i hit Continue nothing happens it just comes back to same screen(extension in use).

hope to get some help on this since on the web i didnt find much help besides phone manuals.


 
I would recommend logging out that other extension at whatever location it is at.
 
i have avaya 1416 connected to ipo not thru IP. i dont see option to logout of that one.

I have 1616-I phone when i hit ext and password it logs in fine and logs the 1416 off automatically.

now when i do the same in 9620 i am stuck at ext in use.
 
ok so finally got logged in to 9620 and its working in the same lan where ipo is installed.

how do i make it work from remote loacation from home with cable/dsl connection?

what are the requirements? i currently have VPN setup in my company when i have to get in my network thru PC i use the VPN connection.
 
depending on your router at the office, you will need to have 46xxsettings file handy and modify it accordingly. at least enough to make the changes through the phone. the router will need to support "group" vpns which it appears from your statements that it does.

you will have to point the phone locally first to the http server that has the 46xxsettings file in it. once it pulls the file you should be able to modify the vpn settings to connect the phone.

i got the 46xxsettings.txt file configuration loaded on the phone and when it tries to authenticate it fails at "IKE Phase 1 no response" any idea?
