Avaya 8700 attendant console question

I have an Avaya 8700. Our attendant console has been having a lot of problems lately where the caller cannot hear our receptionist, however the receptionist can hear the caller. This happens on inbound calls and also over our pa system internally in the building.
I have tried changing ports for the attendant and even getting a new attendant console. Nothing we have done seems to resolve the issue.
This seems to happen about twice a day when it does it, but only about 3 days a week.
Any help is much appreciated.
 
yes, the handset and coil cord were the first thing to be replaced, thank you though.
 
Maybe it's a wiring problem. I would suggest the following:

1) Try a different external power suppy and/or adapter

If that makes no difference

2) Try a different RJ45-RJ45 phone cord from the jack or adapter to the console

If that makes no difference

3) Try wiring a second digital port to the workstation. Use different riser (house) pairs
