Hello,

I have created a front end that cycles through a bunch of records and updates them automatically.

When all records have been updated, i wish to open some results in excel immediately, based on a query.

I know i can just use a report, but I have a lot of headings in my query that wouldn't fit, and i wolud prefer the data in excel anyways.

Is this possible?

Thanks!

Try writing a macro that runs and then outputs the query results to excel. Run the macro as an event procedure on afterupdate.

Yes,

Run a macro action:(OutputTo) and then set the properties below to the query, and then the format of XLS. You must specify the location of the output file as well. ex ( C:/xlsfilename.xls

This will name the file and place it in the location. You can also edit the file before it exports which is nice.

Then, set a command button with the "on click" event in the properties.

Hope this helps,

Joey
