Hi,

I am working on a store's project and am using MS Access 2002. The requirement is that after a product's barcode has been scanned then the focus should be transfered to the next control automatically instead of hitting enter key after every scan. Can anybody help me out?

Thanks,

Yameen

Usually the barcode scanner is configured to send a special character after the reading value.

Hope This Helps, PH.

Thanks PH,

What happens that if i want to evaluate the value in Onchange even the text box is not populated fully and for any other even handler to work i need to press enter key which i want to avoid. So let put the question this way that how can i make some function execute when the input of the barcode has been completed. It doesn't matter if its a user function or event handler.

Thanks,

Yameen

You can test the special the arrival of the termination character in either KeyDown, KeyPress or KeyUp event procedure of the textbox.

PH,

I have tried to identify the control character but for some reason i am not able to. I am using Symbol LS9208 Handsfree barcode scanner. I have gone through the documentation too and its says that <cr> <lf> is the prefix combination but the check as

IF keycode = val(vbcrlf) then

Or

If keycode = val(vbcr) or any is not working.

Any idea?

Thanks,

Yameen

<cr> <lf> is the prefix combination
No suffix or termination ?
Anyway, I think that <cr> is keycode 13 and <lf> 10.
