Morning!

Here's a problem to start your day off with!

I have created a macro that when a radio button is selected an alert is shown on the screen, reminding the user to fill in another form and contact the HSE manager. This macro also automatically sends an e-mail to the HSE manager to tell him that somebody should have filled in the HSE injury report and that they should be contacting him.

This works, BUT

Access sends the e-mail through Microsoft Outlook Express, which is not set up on our system.

The question is:

how do I change it so that Access sends the e-mail through Microsoft Outlook not Outlook Express?

Any ideas?

Much appreciated

I am using Novell Groupwise and had the same problem. Which email prog are you using?

That was quick!

At the moment I'm using a stand alone computer. The e-mail program that has been set up on ALL of the computers is Microsoft Outlook. Although Outlook Express is installed, it is not used and has not been connected to the server.

Outlook has, so I would like to send the automated e-mail from it instead otherwise it is going to cause a lot of problems when the database is in use. I'm only a temp, so I won't be here to sort the problems out!

I hope this helps you help me?

Thanks

oh ok I thought you were using somethng else other than a microsoft email program. In that case I think all you have to do is make sure it is set as your default program for emails. From memory I think that setting is found in explorer under options. It will prob also be found under control panel somewhere.

just had a look see and it is explorer -> tools -> internet options -> programs tab

cheers

Unfortunately this hasn't worked!

You don't by any chance know any other ways of sovling this problem?

If not, thanks for your help anyway :)
