Can someone tell me if it is possible to accomplish the following & if so what is the best way of doing so:

I have a form with a text box for entering a Container Description that will be saved into my Container Table. Also on this form is a subform with a datasheet view of the Container Table. I want to have an Auto Complete/Highlight type action happen in the subform as the user enters data into the form text box. (i.e. the user begins to type in the text box "Ware..." as the user is typing the subform datasheet view records are being highlighted as to possible containers with descriptions equalling the characters being typed in the text box.

I hope this makes sense!

Many thanks in advance! :)

Sounds like you already have known possibilitie for your containers. Why not enter those in a seperate table then change your text box to a combo box and use the new table as the data source,, then you can limit input to what is in the table and the autocomplete is built-in.

Thanks!
I did change the text boxes to combo boxes and changed the LimitToList to NO as I need the capability to add new containers as needed.
The problem I am running into now is that once the auto complete is activated any key I hit besides my "add" button (i.e. tab key) will produce a uniques constraint violation ... as if I am trying to save the record.

You will need to do a requery action on the ComboBox after you have added the new Container in your RecordSource table.
