I have an 800 number that points to an extension on the phone system. The number works good. What I want to do now is have an automated voice message on the line when it calls to announce the status of the company and then hang up. This is for Disaster Recovery purposes.

Basically the message would say "Our Main office is closed today due to the Blizzard and we are working out of our Disaster Recovery Office."

Thanks
Aaron

Do you have an announcement board? That would be easiest. Record an announcement, have the 800 number point to vector and play announcement.

I would setup a VDN and vector. Build a split and a button somewhere on a phone and login when(if possible)there is a problem. In the vector send it to the recording you want or just send it to it's regular destination during normal business hours.

Yeah we don't have an announcement board.

Let me check the VDN and vectoring.

VDN and vectoring option still requires announcement board, unless you are going to us a voicemail box for the recording.

yeah I was just looking at that and realized it was the same as my meet-me bridge which doesn't have an announcement. Guess I will need to use some sort of voicemail solution.
