Auto Announcement "Call is being recorded" on all extensions

Hi

I am having trouble in getting an auto announcement for all extensions in my IP Office 500 V2 8.1 / Voicemail Pro 8.1.
How do i set up an announcement for all extensions to play a message that the call is being recorded when calling in. I want the announcement to be played before the call is answered. Any ideas?
 
This has already been discussed in another thread, but basically route all calls to the same VM module and play the message, from there transfer to $DDI.

I am a bit of a novice on the VMPro stuff. I have created the Module but not too sure what modules to use in it to make this possible.

 
Here you go - in this case, the extension numbers match the last 3 digits of the DID number

Turn on call recording announcement in the VM Pro preferences
(although you may want to re-record the default essage

I am guessing the play Advise is the announcement. and the transfer module what changes do i need to make for it? I have attached the settings i have made for each module

You set $CP0 to the last 4 digits of $DDI, so make your transfer destination go to $CP0

And add $CLI to the "Source of Transfer" box of the Transfer action
 
I have made the changes but when i call the number it does not ring but plays the announcement and then cuts off the call and the handset doesnt even ring. Any Advise?

Do a Monitor trace, there you see which DDI it calls on and which it will try to transfer to.

Cheers for that but I'm not reading it (though it does look like the calls has been transferred to 1234, there's no internal extension match for 1234 so its been matched to the ? and sent off switch as an outgoing call and your line provider doesn't have a match for 1234 either so they dropped the outgoing call and the IP Office then drops the incoming call).

An easy way to check is just to temporarily add $CP0 as an entry prompt to transfer action. Then on your test calls you'll hear what the previous actions have set $CPO to before they do that transfer.


I've been keeping out of this because I assumed you knew that the system's default behaviour was to play the call recording message at the start of call recording, ie. when the call is answered, but weren't happy with that, hence your request for "I want the announcement to be played before the call is answered". Possibly you're starting to see it might have been easier to just go with the default even if you own people get sick of listening to it.

You usually wanna play the Recording Notice before the customer gets connected, now after GDPR many even included the option for the customer if they allow the call to be recorded.

That's a kind of "how many angels can dance on the head of a pin" argument since in both cases the recording only starts after the announcement.

Not really, if I call to a call center I wanna know it when I call there, not when I waited in queue and the agent finally answers.
Although in a regular queue setup it's not an issue as you just have it in the welcome announcement, I haven't encountered a case where they wanted it on all DDIs and can't think a reason on why all extensions should record all calls.
