I am setting up a new unit, first ATMV2 I have dealt with. Doing this one in Basic mode.

The 4 green led indicators on the combo card are not lit. In SSA, it properly identifies the ATM4V2 but it states the trunks are out of service. On the phones, the led indicators next to the 4 lines are lit.

System started out of the box as 8.1(18)FP1 & ATM4V2 didn't work. Upgraded to 8.1(67), same thing. I read about the ATM4V2 in other posts, not sure if it really only works on (65) or higher, but at (67) it should. The control unit is PCS11.

Also, when I open Manager I see 10.1(67) in the start up screen, but once I am in the program, at the top of the screen in the blue band it says [8.1(63)]. I can't remember if that's normal and only shows back to the last major core. I expected to see (67) up there. Under Advanced>Upgrade the system and mods show as (67).

Could I just have a bad combo card?

Any thoughts?

Have you tried in the line settings to change it to "in Service"
never done basic mode [wavey2] but in IPO mode it will work that way

Give a tech a solution and he will be back tomorrow to ask you the next question, teach a tech how to read the manual and he will be able to solve the problems for a life time.

I have done only one Basic mode and the customer upgraded to Essential after only three days of working.
What a crap....

No I agree about the whole basic thing. 1 out 25 is basic here. I get that. But as for the card not working, this is the more pressing question. Yes, they are in service, they just don't work. I pulled it and put in a regular ATM. Works fine. I will let you guys know if that same piece works in regular IPO mode or maybe, its just a DOA.

Thanks

Put actual working analog lines into the ports. May require a reboot, it will then detect the trunk

have you tried to power down ipoffice, remove the atm4/version 2 and reseat it and then restart ipoffice, you should get 4 green lights if not maybe a bad card as this is a new install right?

This made me nervous the first time I installed an ATM4V2. The ports will show as "out of service" unless an actual circuit is connected.

Yes, the lights do not light by default anymore. Only when a "live" line is detected. Should have worked that way from the beginning, but it is working as it should.

Just installing one at the moment and the lights are out as described
Never noticed before on other installs.

Lights on when line s connected.

Now when I think about it [ponder]the lights were normally on ,on the 7 and 8.0 versions

True, when I installed the Basic version 8.1.67 then the lights went on only after connectiong the line.
Another thing I noticed is that customer was complaining about poor audio quality when in Basic mode, after migrating to Essential Mode the customer said the quality improved a lot.
Even in Basic mode that should not happen.

intrigrant; when you were in basic mode can you still go to lines, analog page 2 and do the impedience test, this will set the correct values for the central office

Impedence match is automatic now with latest R8.1. It does it for you as soon as you plug the line in. Pretty cool.

It does it in any mode now, you can see it with monitor.

I replaced an older Definity last week that had door phones connected to trunk ports. Since these lines are now out of service until they see loop current I couldn't connect them to the new combo card trunk ports. The lines would never come in service. Seems like they'd make a provision for devices like that without having to provide a module for a simple door phone. Ended up eating an Phone2 card just to make things work.

Devices should not need to be connected to trunk ports in the first place.

BAZINGA!

I'm not insane, my mother had me tested!
