We have a central Definity G-10 and Pro-Logix out in remote buildings. Employees are provided a "personal" DID # that enters the central site, and is covered to a physical extension # (Coverage Remote) in one of the remote sites.

Recently employees have begun to travel between multiple sites, and are looking for a way to have their calls (and MWI indication) based on where they are. Any ideas for a "login" type feature where the phone's physical extension wouldn't change, but the DID could be repointed?

are all your facilities networked? If not--maybe giving them telecommuter remote access maybe the answer--

Telecommuter access allows users to change their lead-coverage path or call-forwarding destination no matter where they are. You need to set up coverage paths and assign security codes before telecommuting coverage will work.

The items needed for telecommuting coverage are telecommuting access, Feature Access Codes, Class of Restriction and Class of Service.
Type display feature-access codes and press RETURN. The Feature Access Codes screen appears. Make sure codes are in these fields:
Change Coverage Access Code
Extended Call Fwd Activate Busy D/A, All, and Deactivation
Type change COR to change the Class of Restriction . Your users can make remote changes to coverage when the Class of Restriction (COR) has a y in the Can Change Coverage field.
Type change cos. Users can make remote changes to call forwarding when the Class of Service (COS) assigned to their phones has a y in the Extended Forwarding All and Extended Forwarding B/DA fields.
On the station form, make sure that there is a valid Coverage Path. Coverage Path 1 and 2 fields are completed on each station screen assigned to those using telecommuting access.
On the station form, the security code field on the station screen must also be completed. If the security code has already been assigned, an * (asterisk) appears in the Security Code field on the station screen.
To allow users remote access to the system:

1. Type change telecommuting-access and press RETURN.

2. Enter the extension (usually a DID. station) that you want remote users to use to access the system. All remote users dial this same extension.

To disable telecommuting access, leave the telecommuting extension field blank

Chiefred,

Thanks for the tip. All of our switches are connected via t1's. As it works now, the users personal number hits the main switch, and then covers via the T1 to the remote physical extension.
