We had a mitel phone system, and used an ASC Telecom IP Recorder (powerplay) to record our calls. We have since moved to a different call switch (Avaya / verint) setup. We still however need to access our calls from 5 years ago. The proprietary format though is unable to be read normally, so we have to try and keep the software running, but... the software requires specific hardware which is nearly impossible to locate now. Does anyone know of any way to convert the audio files to a different format that can be used such as a .wave file?
The software has the ability to save as a wave file, but we can't get access to the software. If there is a piece of the software that can run standalone that does the conversion that would be wonderful. Thanks for any information or further direction.

Yes I have tried to use that program, it states there is no audio in the file that can be converted. I have also posted on the software's forum to see if there was anyone succesfull with converting using the software.

Thanks for the input / suggestion.

I think you need to append the file you want to convert with a .RAW first

Thanks for the tip on the .raw this lets it be "converted" but all we get is screeching / static noise on the converted file.

Maybe try to append with different formats e.g .WAV, .au, .mp3 etc. and try and play.
It might take patience if it is an unencrypted file format finding the correct extension.
If it is encrypted you will have no chance as the ASC recorder will probably have it's only proprietry decoder.

What version is your ASC software? And why can't you get access to the software?
I know that there is also a stand-alone version of Powerplay which runs on all common pc hardware. So you don't need to keep the old recorder runnning.

You can then convert all the calls to wave files and store them somewhere else.

Where are you located?

DOn't help him he should be punished for going to Avaya!!!

50 lashes with a wet noodle for you!

I'd tell you a UDP joke but I'm afraid you won't get it. TCP jokes are the best because you always get them.

LOL, well we didn't have a ton of options avaya vs cisco that were able to handle our requirements, and cisco quickly got into nearly double the cost. And well for a small IT group on a low budget you have to take what the CEO says is affordable. LOL However my mitel challenge is still the same regardless of the new switch.

To answer the other posts.
I'm looking up the ACS version.
The hard drives are acting up, (note the call data is on data disks) and we have one down disk reader in the machine. We would have to rebuild the machine on new hardware, but that costs tons of cash for us to have setup and migrated.

Any of you happen to know how / where to get the standalone power play client so I can copy the data from disks into a playable format if I need it?

Thanks
