I seem to be having a problem with a number that is in our area code, but does not seem to be dialing correctly.

I dial the number and I get the message that I need to dial a 0 or a 1. I think the PBX is stripping out the 1 and area code that I dial.

Entered the full number into the ARS and it still happens.

where else should I look?

hashesh, thats not a good plan, it could mess up other numbers that are routing properly...

First look at you ars lsit and see if it appears to be set up correctly to handle the area code you are trying to use.
Next do a list route chosen for the number and see if it is routing the way you think it should be, if not you may have to adjust the route pattern or the ars setting. Sometimes it is better to make another when you are not sure what the results will be, this way you won't break things that are working. another thing you can try depending on you version of software and access level would be a trace route.

hi ,
you can try the list trace station xxx command and you can see the numbers are the phone send to the trunk .

Ran list trace station 7101 and dialed. Here is the output.

LIST TRACE

time data

11:21:55 active station 7101 cid 0x175
11:21:59 dial 919207235522
11:21:59 route-pattern 1 preference 1 cid 0x175
11:21:59 term trunk-group 1 cid 0x175
11:21:59 dial 919207235522
11:21:59 seize trunk-group 1 member 1 cid 0x175
11:22:01 dial 919207235522
11:22:01 outpulse done 7235522
11:22:08 idle station 7101 cid 0x175

Looks like it shaved off area code and preceding 1. Here is the ARS ANA for the number:

ARS DIGIT ANALYSIS TABLE
Location: all Percent Full: 7

Dialed Total Route Call Node ANI
String Min Max Pattern Type Num Reqd
1920 11 11 p1 fnpa n
19207235522 11 11 p1 fnpa n
193 11 11 p1 fnpa n

Hmmm, Looks like a ft atkinson nuumber...
Take a look at route pattern 1 and see how it is setup.
Are you having problems with other calls or just this one number?

multiple numbers that are 'local long distance'

Looks to me your route pattern is like this:

Code:
                            Pattern Number: 1

Grp. FRL NPA Pfx Hop Toll No. Inserted DCS/ IXC
No. Mrk Lmt List Del Digits QSIG
                             Dgts Intw
 1: 1 0 4 n user

If so, you need to take out the "No. Del Dgts" entry.

Check to see if there are any entries in your ars and aar digit conversion table.

I think probably the fnpa call type in the ars table to hnpa and see what change you have. Anyway what would be the correct way to dial this number?

Switch name: hagenit - ARS DIGIT ANALYSIS TABLE
Location: all Percent Full: 7

Dialed Total Route Call Node ANI
String Min Max Pattern Type Num Reqd
1920 11 11 p1 locl n

I tried locl and fnpa. locl seems to be working...I THINK.

There is one more area to check in the route pattern - there should be something in the prefix-mark field - put a 1 in the field to assure the 1 is to be passed to the network, a 0 will absorb the 1.
