Hi guys, first post here, I recently discovered a little problem on an old argent office...
If a user has forwarded all calls to his mobile, and reception dial out to contact someone and tries to transfer her dialled call to the user with the forwarded extension, she cannot pass the call over.

So, User fwds all calls to his mobile.
Reception dials out and then tries to transfer her call to the users extension, so she dials recall and her call is put on hold, she then calls the extension and speaks to the user on his mobile, then hangs up to try and connect the two calls together, but it just hangs up the connection to the user and the original call is still on hold.

I hope this makes sense! it works fine if a call rings into reception, she can transfer the call fine to the user with the forward.
Any ideas? I know its old old kit now, but this ones got me stumped!

Cheers
Dave

What sort of trunks?

This sounds like a trunk to trunk transfer issue.

I have always wished that my computer would be as easy to use as my telephone.
My wish has come true. I no longer know how to use my telephone.

Use Call status to check what trunk groups are in use.
Or Monitor for more information.

ACSS - SME
ACA - Implement IP Telephony

Rubbish work around - but can she conference the calls and hang up?

You couldn't transfer an outgoing external call to an external destination until IP Office v2.1 (2.1.(35) IIRC) when the 'Allow Outgoing Transfer' tick box was added in Manager, so on an Argent you're out of luck.

Re the conference workaround, I believe the conference will end if the internal user hangs up. You can park the conference, but then you'll probably get MOH playing on the call.

I don't recall - but you may well be right.

Thanks very much everyone!
We are trying to get him to upgrade to the IP500 anyway so this is just more ammo...
Very grateful!

Now Latitude has mentioned it it has refreshed my mind & he is correct.

(It is because once the calls have been transferred the owner of the lines has lost all control over call duration. & could run up excessive call charges if misused)
deserves a star for remembering that.

Both stop working when you open Windows
