I was unable to stop an active job in ARCserveIT 6.6 on our NT server. I applied a patch from CA that did not work so in desperation I uninstalled ARCserveIT for workgroups and then reinstalled it. However now the media is unrecognised. I do not have the option to catalog the media.

Why would this happen and how can I resolve it?

Any help would be greatly appreciated

Can you format the media (with any name) ?
If you can get ARCserve to format the tape, you can then erase it.

I don't think I'll have any problem formatting and erasing the media. It does give me the option to. My concern is restoring data from media that is now unrecognised.

Hi,

What you'll need to do is merge the tapes into the database.

When I attempt to merge, it does not allow me to use the default "*" as the media name. If I make up a media name, it then requests me to mount that media.
