My company has created a temporary position for me. A sort of trial period. After this trial period, they will decide whether or not to keep the position for good. If they do, the pay will be more than my current position. I am curious what would be the appropriate salary range for the position. The most difficult thing about figuring that out is that they are unsure of the title for the job, though "analyst" was a thought. I'll try my best to describe the job:
It would be mostly reporting on a lot of the company's statistics. Currently, we use several different programs for keeping our stats. Most of my work is done in MS Access or Excell. I often work with a co-worker (our existing analyst), and sometimes by myself for other side projects.
Often times, I will have to pull information from several systems all together in Access or Excell. I have a pretty reasonably extensive knowledge of both Access and Excell, and often have to use it. I also often learn new things through the position.
I cannot think of how else to describe the position (that is the problem), so ask any questions you may need in order to clarify. Anybody have an estimate on such a position's appropriate salary range?
