This is my 2nd Linux server. When I installed the software for the first one it gave me the option to setting up the eth0 interface. This one does not and I don't know how to set it up. I found that I can login with "root" and my password and then use "system-config-network" to change the network settings, but there is nothing there to change. Any suggestions?

I think your network card does not work or there are no drivers for it.

BAZINGA!

I'm not insane, my mother had me tested!

This happens if the port isn't connected to anything - its really a bug but current setup the system while connected.

I have tried to reinstall and have worked with IBM tech support. They think it is the system board on the server.

Interesting,

Try and install with cable plugged into the network card first, see if that helps.

If that doesn't work, buy the cheapest network card you can find, plug that in, try install again :).

If you really want to get the initial network card running:

1) List all the devices and see if it recognizes your card:

Issue commands:
lspci -v > ./pci.txt
lsmod > ./drivers.txt

You'll have the two files which you can check/post here.

2) google and see if the card is supported on CentOS.
It might be in newer kernels, so you could in theory download the rpm from mirror.centos.org, upload to system and do rpm -U kernel-... (full file name)
I would still recommend the second NIC :)

UPDATE: This particular model of Lenovo server is not compatible with Linux. Bummer

I am not Linux savy so you may have to elaborate on the lspci. They think that the Apps software does not have a compatible driver for the NIC.
