Is there anybody that played with the new VMPro backup yet?
By the docs you need to have them in a domain.

Do you need a SMTP server or can both VMPro servers handle this by itself?
You need to have SMTP installed on both servers.

Or is it in all docs already but it is not working yet?

Am i missing something here?

Looks to me that you just need to share these paths;

\\SERVERNAME\Program Files\Avaya\IP Office\Voicemail Pro\VM\Back up\Scheduled\Daily
\\SERVERNAME\Program Files\Avaya\IP Office\Voicemail Pro\VM\Back up\Scheduled\Weekly
\\SERVERNAME\Program Files\Avaya\IP Office\Voicemail Pro\VM\Back up\Scheduled\Monthly

Or some network mappings in 2k3/2k8.

Bas, no that is for backup services of that vmpro itself.
You can set that with housekeeping.

The VMPRo backup server is what i mean :)

So when the main vmpro server fails the backup server should take over.

He doesn't mean "backup", he means "backup". Maybe they should have called it "redundancy" but that's a sore word with many folks at the moment.

Make sure on the SCN the option "Backs up my Voicemail" is ticked.

That is what i mean Bas,

A backup voicemail server has nothing to do with SCN.
You can configure a vmpro machine in a SCN as a backup vmpro server but you can also have two servers on one location.

The two servers should communicate with each other by smtp.
But does it need a smtp server in the domain or can be it's own smtp server.
You need to install smtp on the vmpro machines.

Also this function should not be working because it should be coming in the next maintenance release.

If you look in the docs you will see a different smtp screen then you normally have.

I am trying it with the fieldtrial version by the way, this should be a working verison.

I dont want to hijack this, but can you have 2 site scn each site own voicemail, and still use the redundancy???

So whats up with the Kung Fu kick guy at the final game. Is it legal to kick through someones chest to get the ball? Shouldn't he have been...booted? Seriously. Might as well have put UFC fighters on the field.

So was that an example of a reasonable red card that should have been called? Teach me ole wise ones on the beautiful game.

Use system monitor unless of course you are a Tard then it IS the fault of the pbx.

@ CarGoSki, he should have been send of, the idiot.
Although we could have won but they need that little bit of luck they did not have.
But if you need luck then you do not deserve the title.

@HyTech, i did have setup SMTP on both servers but i do not have a domain where i can put them in.

Hey you guys played an agressive game. It kept me interested. There can only be one at the top. Good game.

It was that bad.
They did not play there own game sadly.

By the way, i have the backup vmpro server running!

Ok i have it working and i like it :)

It communicates by names and not ipaddresses.
If you can reach the servers by it's name then it whould work.
At the IP Office vmpro settings, in the control panel, you set the vmpro server name (the one you work on, not the other one) in the SMTP field and set the mail drop location (default place)

That is all.

At the moment the trial is going on, the current versions are not working well.

I have tried but if you add a module it is sometimes deleted instead of synced with the other vmpro server :)

This sounds like it is really just Networked messaging with a few extras. that was exactly how we had to set it up. as long as they could ping by name it worked well.
