IE
hey all. still fighting this cc-war. after a recent upgrade to 8.1 which didn't go too well, iis needs to be reset every day manually to kickstart it, I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling everything (bar sql) including iis. same issue happens re having to reset iis daily but now when wallboard is opened it is a completely blank white screen. has anyone ever seen this before? tried again to uninstall and reinstall but same problem. sees to be a deeper issue with server than I thought. ws2003, sql2008 express, no firewall.
cheers in advance

About that iis reset, i remember that this is a default scheduled action every night.
Is it still there?

About the wallboard, do you have silverlight (the ltest version) installed?
It sounds like a version mismatch to me.

BAZINGA!

I'm not insane, my mother had me tested!

yes, still there at 2.30am. It does this but fails to start again. I have been logging in every morning for the past couple of days and resetting manually. I now have a batch file scheduled to run every morning and will see if this works also. i tried adding a second iis reset into ccr but doesn't bring it back up, hopefully the windows automated task will work.

yes, uninstalled and reinstalled silverlight. there's an error on the bottom of the IE page (firefox is completely blank):

Then i would try o uninstall silverlight and .et (all versions) and then only install .net 4.x and silverlight 4.x

Hey bas, yep, the usual, it's not a service issue, it's like tlpeter says, an incompatability.

I have been sticking to the manual for install, including the patches. If i only install .net4 then which patches would go on? Just this 1?
NDP40-KB2468871-v2-x86.exe 10.0.30319.233
Microsoft Update for the .NET Framework 4.0

got this working at last. in case anyone ever experiences anything like it do the following:
go to IIS manager - right click on the name of the server (all the web services are listed below this). click properties, click MIME types. Add a new type. Add in

Extension: .xap
MIME Type: application/x-silverlight-app

restart IIS (start - run iisreset.exe)

Basically IIS wasn't getting an associating with silverlight, even though silverlight works fine on the server (tested using netflix!).

this took me 3 weeks to solve, love CCR:( The day it works on linux (well installs anyway) the better.

Afraid CCR will stick on the windoze platform till the day it dies (soon i hope)

Chronicall is the reporting drug of choice round here.

installs in Windows and Linux

I agree with HSM
It will never ever being ported to Linux as they probably would not get that working at all :)
Although all the stuff Avaya has on Linux works fine.

agreed about ccr. stopped selling it a year ago but the few sites I have take up 60% of my time. if it ran without intervention for a whole month I would be happy. If the customer didn't complain about missing stat points or how to decipher reports every couple of weeks I'd be even happier. if avaya gave a free upgrade to chronicall i'd have to pinch myself.
