Analogue Extension CLID

I'm trying to get my fax machine connected to an analogue extension to send the correct DID. On all other digital extensions, the user short code listed below works just fine. But with the analogue extension, the call doesn't even go through with this short code entered.

Any ideas how to remedy this?

Does your fax use the 9 for an outside line? Did you try with a buttset?

The fax does use a 9 for an outside line. I have not tried testing it with an analogue handset yet. I will try that next.

After looking into this a little more I found that the "Caller Display Type" for the analogue fax extension is set to Off. Should this be set to DTMFF or does this setting only affect incoming CLID and not outgoing?

What release? Where is that short code in ARS table or user shortcode?

That has no affect on incoming. Does you provider allows you to send that number? Otherwise make a sysmon trace and post it here.

I tried plugging a regular analog handset into the analog fax extension. Without the user short code for the clid set, I press 9 and can make a call. As soon as I set the short code for the clid, I press 9 and immediately get a long steady continual tone and can go no further.

Why don't you try this & bypass dialling 9, in the User's Short Codes.

This will let you dial out without dialling 9 if you have a PRI.
