Is there a way to connect two seperate IP Office 500 systems together using an analog trunk (ATM4U)

Sure you can but why ?
You better use an ip trunk, it will give you way more features.

honey, i fried the IP Office !!!

Sarcasm, it's only one of the services I offer.

>Sure you can

If you have an ATM4u in each unit AND 4 analogue extension ports spare it can be made to work,

but as tlpeter says, why?

Take Care

Matt
I have always wished that my computer would be as easy to use as my telephone.
My wish has come true. I no longer know how to use my telephone.

Not making any calls is even more cheaper!

Eventually I will use an IP trunk but right now we want to connect 2 IPO 500's in different buildings but have to go thru a serial multiplexer for a few months until we are cleared to connect to a router. I'm new to IPO. How would I go from the analog trunk to a analogue line?

Another quick question. Can I go from IPO Analog trunk to a Prologix TN760E Analog Tie Trunk?

I'm new to IPO".....did you had your training?
Better ge a BP, if i look to you other post.

I go to school at the end of next month

The TN760E do E&M the AVAYA only does E&M on a T1 if i'm not mistaken.

Do you have a VCM in both IPO's?
You could connect the IPO's together by one cable from the WAN ports. Only need a shortcode for it to make it work.

Yes i do have VCM's on both IPO's. How do I do this

Give both WAN port an ip addr.

SITE1 (tel range 1xx)
WAN/LAN2 10.0.0.1

Add H323line, point it to GW ip add 10.0.0.2, outgoing id 101 Set "Supplementary Services" to none and unitck allow direct media path.

Add shortcode 2XX/dial/2N/ Line number of H323 line

SITE2 (tel range 2xx)
WAN/LAN2 IP 10.0.0.2

Add H323line, point it to GW ip add 10.0.0.1, outgoing id 102 Set "Supplementary Services" to none and unitck allow direct media path.

Add shortcode 1XX/dial/1N/ Line number of H323 line

So the connection shoul look like;

IP500 (1xx range) <--- UTP Cat5e ---> IP500 (2xx range)

Don't create a IP route to WAN/LAN2
