I have a customer who wanted to have their home number ported over to the PRI and deleviered to them.
So I am using the Multitech MVP130 and have everything working great.
The only problem is that when you call the phone number or the extension you hear dead silence until someone on the other end answers. I tried doing asst. transfer in vm pro but then people get really confused hearing music on hold.

Any ideas???

Thanks

you could try another music on hold source which is recorded ring tone (you get 4 sources on 4.2) :)

Simply set the source you want to use in the Incoming call route :)

What directory will the holdmusic.wav go into?

Manager folder :)

C:\Program Files\Avaya\IP Office\Manager to be exact :)

But for aditional sources you can name them as you please i.e ringtone.wav

That is where I put the file, and rebooted the phone system and changed the incoming call route to point to the new tone but still can't hear it.

The TFTP log shows that it was sent to the IPO

Can you see it loaded in system status? Also if it is the second source *342# will play it if it's the third *343# will play it :)

Can I use External for the main and still have the newone for just this?

Also have you specifically set it as a second source in Manager?

I tried the shortcode and it just keeps playing our normal on hold. But that is from a external device.
Does that matter?

How did you connect the MVP130, IP trunk or IP end point?

You can have external as normal yes, as long as you have specified the second source as the .wav file (try renaming as I suggested) the *342# will play it as will selecting that source from the Incoming call route, I have done it a few times :)

IP Endpoint. I have the IP line with the IP address of the mvp in there, then i have the ext with the ip address in there and finally a shortcode that says xxx dial xxx line3

I was still searching for it, had the same problem with a AudioCodes i think, that was resolved by a firmware upgrade.
