Has anyone had issue's with all page through system phones going crazy? When all page is pressed sometimes the phones go on and off hook repeatedly until phone is unplugged or system is rebooted. When you have a system with 100 phones or more, this is a big problem. I have this problem on 4 different systems. Im running 3.1.56 on all of them. Seems to be a bug. Avaya says they have never seen the problem. Thanks in advance.

I just did a two site SCN with 3.1.56 and they have no issues with paging. Even across the SCN. How do you have your paging set up?

Doesnt matter if it is a fixed button or a dial code

SC- *799
Tele- "All Page"
Feature- DialPaging

It was reported that a user started a page but changed their mind after activating the all page and hung before all phones activated. I tried to recreate it here in my lab with 4 sets total using 5420's and 2420's. I think the common factor is if you have many sets in the page group. It takes a little more time to activate 50-100 sets then 4 sets.

Avaya full of $#%t There is a problem. What sets are you using, I've seen this with 4400's. It will also drop calls on you, with less phones. I had a site with 65 sets, monitor running(to find drop calls)& with every page a reboot would happen. turned off monitor and that stopped. But I have a Few sites dropping calls after a page.I think the busier the system the worse the problem.

Hmmm, know that you mention dropped calls, one the systems was also experiencing that as well but did not coralate it with the other problem. One system is using mostly 5410 with two 4424 with dss. Another site is just using 5410 sets only. I havnt seen the system reboot on its own but all the phones in the page group will go on and off hook until you unplug it or reboot the 406v2.

The site did n't know they were rebooting, I only noticed when I watched monitor, but yes the sets would be off hook untill you unpluged them or a real reboot.

if you got more phones than vcm channels than that could be the problem
paging a phones takes a channel
if you are paging 100 phones on a ip office than i think it's impossible

Thats a good point, but in the envirnments Im discussing, there are no IP phones on the system.

i never lookt at it but if they are using also phone manager than you have iptraffic
are you using a vcm channel than ???

If you are using IP Phone manager Pro then yes, it would use a vcm, but if you are using a digital hard phone with standard phone manager pro, then no, you would not use a vcm...

Ah, thankyou, I couldnt find any posts on that. Im glad to see Im not the only one experiencing this.

Well Avaya is aware of problems with paging teir 3 said if you don't let the page group set up completly, then hang up, your confusing the switch. They are working on a fix.

I am sure glad somone else is having this problem. i have a system with 64 5420s and every one of them goes nuts if a set page is done and not compleated. I am also getting droped calls.

Is auto hold enabled? I had one that if a user paged on all page and then went to another button without hanging up all the phones went nuts.
We disabled auto hold and have not had a repeat as of yet.

yes, auto hold is enabled, that is something i can try as a last resort. Thanks for that info
