I've been trying to add some new fields to a table; the database is split into a front end and a back end, and it's either that or the number of linked tables that has the main table locked.

Someone told me about a trick in which a query can be used to temporarily unlock the table, and allow changes to be made. I can't get it to work, but I may be misunderstanding what I've been told.

Any pointers on how to do it this way or any other way would be welcome. I'm pretty stuck right now. Thanks!

Get everyone out of the back-end mdb, open it, and make the changes.

Well, shoot.

That was easy.

Thanks!
